In the article ”Grant and Lee: a study in contrast” Bruce Cotton informs in a narrative way that Ulysses S. Grant and Robert E. Lee have something important in common even though they are a lot different from each other. On the one hand, as article examines, Robert E. Lee doesn’t like change and is from those of aristocrats. On the other hand, Ulysses S. Grant who Bruce Cotton reports, was tough and lover of equality and democracy. But, they both have the ability to reconciliate for peace once the war is over
